Marc Jacobs
Special projects, from the Ziegfeld to Madison.

Special projects for Marc Jacobs: a Fashion Week show, a store opening, a flagship drawing and a season of collections on screen.
Freelance creative director, brought in for special projects.
I was brought in as a freelance creative director for special projects. Four of them are here: the show identity for Spring 2016 at the Ziegfeld Theatre, experimental collages for the Madison store opening, a line drawing of the flagship, and collage animations that took the collection stills and brought them to life for social and digital.
The show identity
In which a show becomes a premiere.
Spring 2016 was staged as a one-night-only premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre on 17 September 2015. The identity played it straight as a movie night: the poster, the marquee, popcorn boxes, ushers, the invitation and the opening titles on the big screen.

Madison
In which a new store gets a scrapbook.
Experimental collages for the opening of Marc Jacobs Madison in 2018. I made every one by hand. I went through old books and magazines for pictures and type, ran them through a xerox machine, cut them up and held them down with black tape, then added my own ink drawings and brush lettering.

The store, in line
In which a building gets drawn.
A line drawing of the Madison flagship, window by window, then signed with the name in brush lettering.

Before
The first store I drew for Marc Jacobs was 163 Mercer Street, in ink, for the Spring 2016 denim labels.

Bringing the stills to life
In which the lookbook starts to move.
I took the collection stills and cut them into collage animations for social and digital: bags, shoes and runway looks set against stage curtains, stars, sequins and stripes, in four themes. Theater, Americana, Varsity, Grunge.

Four briefs
A show, a store, a building and a season. Each one came in as its own special project.
